Julie Samudio lively traditional Irish/American fiddle style sets the tone for
the group. She also has played classical cello for over
25 years in various orchestras, including Portland Youth Philharmonic. |

Mike Samudio is the rhythm guitarist. He has played traditional and
contemporary folk music since the 60's. Mike also is the sound
and recording engineer.
Mike & Julie have been performing together
for twelve years and travelled to Ireland in 1998 to study at the
Willie Clancy Summer School of Traditional Irish Music. |

Chris Huey has 35 years of bluegrass, flatpicking,
and folk guitar experience, and has recorded tunes for the annual
flatpicker's association CD. His leads and counter melodies and rhythms
add to Rose in the Heather's unique Irish/American folk sound. |

Curt Erickson plays upright bass for the band. His strong musical background with
many years of rock experience gives the RITH sound a new
boldness. |

John Parrott's bodhran (Irish lap drum) and djembei provides the solid beat
for which the band is noted. In his role as lead vocalist,
John's strong and resonant bass adds new dimensions to RITH. |

Lisa Colgrove is our rhythm specialist on bodhran, bongo, conga drum and other percussion.
